COLA Bills

COLA bills, also known as Cost of Living Adjustments, are connected to KPERS benefits for retirees in Kansas.

2026 Bills

Picture
House Bill HB 2500 and Senate Bill SB 500 were introduced in the House and in the Senate on behalf of the Kansas Coalition of Public Retirees. They would have created a commission to review a cost-of-living adjustment for KPERS retirees. The bills are dead - it is likely that they will be reintroduced in the 2027 legislative session.
